So far I’ve sewn 4.5 rows of the 10 rows of this quilt and I sewn four of those rows into two pairs. Does that make sense? I’m sewing them all into two row lots and then I’ll sew them together. I haven’t yet decided if want to make this into a quilt or a coverlet. That is, will it have batting or just be two pieces of fabric? I like the idea of it being really drapey.

It’s the last of the 70 odd pointy blocks I’ve been hand-piecing for my new quilt. I’ve decided to call it “Humanity” because no block is exactly like another and the whole is more than sum of its parts. If there are two the same colour they are mirror images of one another and they will be facing different ways.
Here is the pile of finished blocks and now I just have to cut some blank white squares and sew them all together. If I manage to get it up on the design wall I’ll take a photo before I start sewing. Wish me luck!

The stash can be FQs or scrap booking or general craft or whatever. She then posts the stash to a person in the group who can take out as much or as little as she wants. She then replaces what she has taken with stuff of her own and posts it to the next person. Eventually it makes its way back to the organiser.
All the stashes have names and the one I’m involved with is called Farrah the Fat Quarter Stash. You can see a picture of her in her virgin state above. She has now started her secret journey and is on her way to one of us! I wonder who will get her first?
If you want to see the fabrics in more detail head on over to organiser Brownyn’s blog – Stop That Owl to check her out.

… a sculpture!
This is a photograph of Calypso, one of Fraser Smith’s stunningly beautiful and amazingly crafted wooden sculptures. Just look at the stitches and the soft folds! Not to mention the glowing use of colour.
I first found out about Fraser from Anthony Jones – Quiltmaker, on Facebook. So I wrote to Fraser to ask him if I could share with you some of his beautiful work and he very generously agreed.
Below are some of my favourites. There are many more of his wonderful artworks on his website so do take a look.
|This one is called Africa/America and I’m really in awe of his talent and attention to detail. Look at the “quilting” on the reverse of the “quilt”.|
|This next one is called Quilted Maples and check out the detail on the “appliqued” leaves.|

This is just a “keeping in touch post”. I’m still plodding away with my pointy blocks. Honestly the pile does NOT seem to get any smaller!
I’ve just about got the sewing room sorted though I have still to put my Janome into the Horn Cabinet. The problem is that the extender table for the Janome isn’t big enough to extend over the hole so I’m going to have to try and find a plexiglass insert somewhere. Has any of you ever ordered one?
I thought it was a while since Mr Tiggy put in an appearance and he has been so cute lately that I thought I share some photos with you.

Where to start is my problem. Keiko has so many beautiful fabrics and not just in the Spring Collection so I thought I’d show you some of my favourites from her other collections. Enjoy!
I’m especially fond of the film Weave Collection. What about you?
Once again thanks to Liza from Glorious Color for allowing me to use their photos.
