A House Ithaca and Niagara Falls

A House in Ithaca

On our way north from DC to Canada we stopped overnight in Ithaca NY. Our friends had organised for us to stay in this beautiful old house which is used as an event venue and B&B. There were five of us and we had the whole top floor which used to be the servants’ quarters. The second floor had two staircases – the “back stairs” which led to the kitchen, and the formal staircase which had beautiful carved wooden columns. The house was very elegant inside, though the dust from the vintage soft furnishings caused me to have an asthma attack and a sinus problem!

I took some photographs of the beautiful design features. Take a look.

Niagara Falls

After Ithaca we drove north to Canada where we spent a few days. I was so busy there that I didn’t take any photos but on the way back south we stopped at Niagara Falls and I took these photos.

    great house, truly beautiful – sorry you had to suffer from the dust, but I bet the falls made up for everything 🙂 can’t wait till the next post 🙂
