What I'm Busy With – Part 2

March 19, 2011 § 1 Comment

Appliqué, appliqué, appliqué! I’m up to my neck in it, but that’s the way I like it. I think appliqué is one of my favourite techniques.

The first one I’m working on is this…

I’m struck by how creased it becomes as I work on it. When I see other people’s appliqué it always seems to look crisp and pristine even in the middle of the work. Maybe I’m just a scruffy appliquér (if there is such a word).

The second project is this one which I’ve just back-basted and is ready to start appliquéing.

What are you working on at the moment?

I don’t see anything wrong with your applique, just press it when you are done and it will be crisp.

Right now I’m doing a paper pieced border for a round robin and that won’t happen again. Way too much work to do on a block that’s not mine.
