Stash packs for Flood & Cyclone Affected Queensland Quilters

February 6, 2011 § Leave a comment

I read an email the other day that said that The Gum Tree Quilters in Queensland are making up “New Beginnings” sewing kits for quilters and stitchers that have been affected by the floods and cyclone Yasi. They are asking for the following:

1. A handmade sewing caddy, complete with needle-book and pincushion.
2. A pack of embroidery scissors with a scissor keep.
3. Six individual skeins of stranded embroidery threads.
4. Embroidery needles.
5. 1 fat quarter of fabric.

Or whatever you feel you can do. It all helps… even if it is a pair of scissors or just a caddy…

Yesterday I went to a fabric sale and found four sewing kits on sale so I bought all four. I’m teaming them with 1/2 a metre of fabric and one of my handmade pincushions.

If you’d like to help then please visit their blog or email jennyofelefantz {at} yahoo {DOT} com {DOT} au OR purpleflowerpatch {AT} gmail {DOT} com for the address in Australia to post these kits to.
