Recently the Sew Mama Sew blog posed a series of questions and asked bloggers to post their answers to them. Here are their questions and my answers.
Q: Looking back on the sewing scene of 2010, what trends stand out in your mind?
I’m not really into trends. I’m more of a free spirit. But then again I saw more free spirits in blogland this year so perhaps that’s the new trend – follow your own inner compass.
What were some of your favorite things? (Trends, fabric collections, patterns, blogs? Whatever you really loved.)
My favourite things were the Kaffe Fasset books that I collected, my Andalusian Tile Quilt that I finished this year after 2 years hard – but enjoyable – work, and all the new blogs I found to read. There are so many talented quilters and sewists out there.
What was your very favorite fabric collection or print? (If not listed above.)
My favourite fabric – and it hasn’t been dislodged by any of the lovely fabrics that ca
me out this year – is still Kimono by Kaffe Fassett in all the stunning colourways.
Q: What was the best thing you made in 2010? My Andalusian Tile Quilt.
A: What is one of the best things you saw that was made by someone else?
SillBooDilly’s Boro Blues which you can see here
Q: What do you think 2011 has in store? (Again, trends, fabric, patterns, etc.)
A: I think we’ll see more stash quilts. By that I mean that I think due to increased prices for postage and also leaner economic times I think many quilters will choose to shop their stash rather than buy each new collection as it appears.
Q: Anything you’re ready for the sewing world to get over?
A: Heart quilts!
Q: What’s on your sewing agenda for 2011?
A:Trying my hand at Hawaiian-style Quilting and giving it my own stamp.
Q: What are you excited about?
A:Having my first technique article published in the March edition of The Quilt Pattern Magazine.
Q: What would you like to learn more about?
A: Machine quilting which I’m pretty hopeless at.
